Baihetan Hydropower Station is the world's largest giant hydropower station under construction, and this major project has created six world firsts. The total installed capacity of Baihetan Hydropower Station is 16 million kilowatts, and during the construction process, six technical indicators ranked first in the world: the world's first hydro generator unit capacity of 1 million kilowatts; the world's first underground cavern group size; the world's first cylindrical tailwater regulator chamber size; the world's first 300-meter high arch dam seismic parameters; the world's first pressure-free flood relief cavern group size; the first time the whole dam uses low-heat cement concrete.
Fan Xiaxia, Vice General Manager of Three Gorges Group: In particular, Baihetan Hydropower Station is the first time to use all of China's domestic megawatt hydro generator sets, which is another historic leap in China's major hydropower equipment after the localization of Three Gorges units, and on the basis of the localization of Xiluodu and Xiangjiaba units, creating a new era of the world's hydropower megawatt hydro generator sets.
After completion, the average annual power generation capacity of Baihetan Hydropower Station can reach 62.443 billion kilowatt hours, and the hydropower station can save 19.68 million tons of standard coal and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 51.6 million tons per year, which will constitute one of the world's largest clean energy corridors together with Wudongde, Xiluodu, Xiangjiaba, Three Gorges and Gezhouba Hydropower Stations on Jinsha River. .
